We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to animals, supporting veterinarians, and ensuring the smooth operation of our practice. Previous veterinary experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate. This is a current 18-month contract to cover a maternity leave but may lead to a full-time position.
Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and treatments;
Perform lab tests, radiography, and anesthesia monitoring;
Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian;
Maintain accurate patient records and update medical histories;
Care for animals before, during, and after procedures to ensure their comfort and safety;
Educate pet owners on post-treatment care and general health advice;
Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the treatment areas, including; sterilizing equipment and tools;
Assist with managing inventory stock and vet store orders;
Client care engagement at our front desk, on phones and through text and email communications;
